Gold Derby is serving up Big Brother 27 spoilers all summer long. Read at your own risk!
The tumultuous first week of Season 27 — filled with overly long showers, inappropriate slurs, and a queen's threat to "behead" her enemies — is finally behind us. When the dust settled, Zae Frederich had earned the unfortunate distinction of coming in 17th place in a season that was only supposed to have 16 people. With Zae zapped from the game and outgoing HOH Vince Panaro ineligible to compete, only 15 contestants were in the running to win the Week 2 Head of Household competition.
In the overnight live feeds, it was revealed that Jimmy Heagerty had won the coveted HOH key. That means the 25-year-old AI consultant from Sarasota, Fla., will soon have to nominate three people for eviction. CBS will air the complete Head of Household comp and the nominations ceremony during the 60-minute episode on Sunday, July 20 beginning at 8 p.m. PT/ET.
To date, Jimmy is one of the most polarizing figures in the house. He started out the season by claiming he wanted to dethrone the queen, aka Rachel Reilly, though he later came to realize that working with her might be the better option. After the first Veto meeting, he shocked the house by saying he would come after Keanu Soto for calling him a snake. "I am gunning for you, so buckle up, buddy, because this snake has a bite," he hissed.
More from the live feeds
Following Jimmy's Head of Household victory, he told Keanu in the HOH room that he'd be stupid to put him up on the block. He also intimated that Kelley Jorgensen may have won a secret Veto medallion in the HOH competition. Ooo, this is getting good.

Speaking of advantages, Keanu revealed to Jimmy that he received a power that gives him double the odds of winning the upcoming Power of Veto, should he be one of the six people to take part in that challenge.
Later, Mickey Lee informed Morgan Pope that she'd won a power that lets her overthrow a Head of Household's reign. Whoever the HOH is can interrogate everyone in the house, and if they correctly name Mickey, she will be revealed. So much overnight drama!
Jimmy promised safety to Rachel, Vince, Mickey, Morgan, Katherine Woodman, Ashley Hollis, Lauren Domingue, and Zach Cornell. However, take those declarations with a grain of salt. We won't know for sure what Jimmy's plans are until we see his private confessionals on TV.
Pros and cons
As longtime Big Brother viewers are well aware, being Head of Household comes with its own pros and cons. Sure, Jimmy will get a private bedroom and bathroom (with a shower that never gets cold), but he'll also get blood on his hands by putting players' games in danger.
Last week, Vince ended up making enemies in Zae, Ashley, and Amy Bingham when he put them all on the block. Ashley won the Power of Veto and used it to save herself from danger, so Vince named Kelley Jorgensen as the renom (she volunteered as a way of fooling the other houseguests and keeping their final two deal a secret). Kelley then won the live BB Blockbuster on eviction night, so only Zae and Amy had to face the house's judgment; Zae went home by a 9-to-5 eviction vote.
